The second OG image I made for Magran back in July of 2024. This is what happens when she rages! (It’s a barbarian ability in D&d.)
She’s technically a totem of the Elk, but we’ve flavor texted it to be a Fanged Water Deer, so she has antlers and fangs that extend when she gets angry.
The pendant on her necklace is something she carved herself from the antler of said deer.

Magran was born on an island called Pearl Orchard, and in-game has been characterized like the Shire in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit — Calm, friendly, and overbearingly welcoming. It was peaceful! And Magran wanted more, she craved freedom.. so despite a successful family business, a large comfortable home, several overprotective brothers, and a childhood best friend that she wanted something more with.. she left. Just spirited away from home one night when she was 17, got on board a ship, and sailed off into the night without telling anyone. The next morning pirates attacked said ship, sending a canonball into the hull just next to her head, splitering wood and shrapnell into her face and costing her an eye. They took the crew captive, and in an attempt to save her own life, she stood up to them.. and unfortunately impressed them enough to let her live, if she’d join them. Given the choice… she did.
Fast Forward 5 years, and the crew of the Serpent’s Kiss threw a mutiny against their new captain, and Magran unfortunately chose the losing side— that of the captain and first mate, who are now both dead. The captain was shot, and the first mate, a Tabaxi by the name of Shrouds in the Mist, was keelhauled along with Magran. Magran was able to escape and survive, but Shrouds wasn’t so lucky. When she got ashore the nearest island, she kicked in the door to the lighthouse shouting about taking a boat to chase down her treacherous crew, murder in her eyes. And thus, the rest of the party met Magran! or.. Scrimshaw, as she called herself then. The pirate crew had taken to call her that after she’d adopted a habit of carving designs into the finger bones of particularly nasty rival pirate crews and victims. Anyone who deserved it in her eyes. Scrim was pretty much brought on with the Chaos Crew from nothing other than a You Hate Pirates? We Hate Pirates! Let’s Hunt Some Pirates.
After finishing the first job, Scrim was officially brought onto the crew, and since in the process of the job we’d commundeered the Serpent’s Kiss, it was gifted to our new captain, Fy (Pronounced Fi), and the ship was renamed and repainted.
Our has and does consist of a few members — Ozzy, a talking red panda who has since passed away and has been reincarnated as Jam, a sapient blob of blue goop, Fizz, Ozzy’s twin brother who we THOUGHT was dead until he showed up with Kepler (a tiefling NPC and Magran’s BoYFrieND), Chir, a small kenku child who does NOT understand pronouns or gender (it goes by It/They), Fy, a Satyr who cannot catch a break, Sir Pebbles, a raccoon paladin/Archfey Warlock who has no title, that is his name, and Renley, a fox cleric who is way too stressed. I recently drew Renley, actually.
